Fortune
What fortune it was that day a sob led me to the little coffee shop on the corner and I found like manna from heaven on the shelf among cups and coffee pots a book missing from the bookshops forbidden in schools hard to find in reading rooms excellent book of a dead poet with skilful connections of feeling with melodies undulations of language which despite the noted prohibitions was granted me to photocopy and I began slowly to record the tones of sorrow the accompaniments of melancholy on a tape which played like lightning with the death of my voice.
