Students of Arts Administration, at Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa, have planned, organised, packed and created the entire event production process around "Insight out", an exhibition of 40 students' work from 4 courses at the college. Artist, Michael Quane, has acted as Curator for the exhibition, providing the students with his vision statement as a jumping off point
for the show.

Designing innovative exhibition furniture for Cork Vision Centre @ St. Peter's has been a hallmark of the 2 laboratory exhibitions organised by Arts Admin. at CSN. Last year's Curator was Artist, Maud Cotter, who designed a free-standing armature to maximise the centre space of the old church. Michael Quane has furthered this initiative with the design of
ingenious metal frames for holding exhibition boards and hanging sculptures. The exhibition furniture moves back to CSN for use in our end-of-year exhibition at the college.

Artist-led exhibitions provide the students of Arts Administration with the opportunity to implement the Interpretative Planning elements so necessary in bringing a quality exhibition of art and design work to the Cork publicin City Centre. The physical work and arduous Care and Handling process involved in transporting a temporary exhibition are things that the
students experience first-hand.

Curator Michael Quane selected all 40 of the pieces that will be on view at Cork Vision Centre @ St. Peter's from May 2002 student exhibition "NEW ROUTES" at CSN, a show of over 400 works throughout the college - an annual event. A small travelling show from "NEW ROUTES" was also on view for 10 days in June at The Crawford Municipal Gallery in Rm.5.

Having an empathy for the creative process allows the Arts Administration students to see the quality of work produced by individuals. Further, the students handle the work, pack it, create label copy, photograph the work, create brochures and catalogue, develop an Education Programme and a Graphics Package. Hanging the show and running the Opening are also part
of the "styling" of an event for a targeted audience, working from the Curator's STATEMENT.

All CSN students on view in this exhibition have gone on to 3rd level education or are practicing artists and craftsmen. The exhibition will be on view from Febraury 5th through 27th 2003, from 10 - 5 daily. For information on the Education Programme, phone CSN at (021) 4961020 or e-mail at : exhibitionscsnprojmanag@hotmail.com.

Student Project Manager is Corkman and artist, Kieran O'Donovan. Damhnait Hickey of Dublin is student Public Relations Team Leader. The Education Team is comprised of Ruby Moore (Cork), Bobby Byrne (Dublin), Maire Harvey(Cork) and Margaret Hayes(Cork).

The Arts Administration course at CSN is validated by CHNTO (UK), formerly The Museum Training Institute.
