LANDCAPES THROUGH THE LENS AT THE CORK VISION CENTRE
Cork 24th October 2007:Continuing its 2007 series of well-received photographic exhibitions, Cork Vision Centre’s November exhibition focused on the urban and rural Irish Landscape as seen through the lens of renowned Cork photographer Tony O’ Connell.
In ‘LANDSCAPES’ O’ Connell brings his unique eye and photographic style to create a sharp and visually striking solo exhibition that captures the ever changing light and mood of Ireland’s rural and urban landscape.
Passionate about photography, O’ Connell is delighted to present LANDSCAPES his fourth in a series of Cork Vision Centre exhibitions.
“The stunning natural beauty of West Cork and our coastline provides a constant yet varied source of inspiration. I am often overwhelmed by the awe-inspiring rugged beauty of the land and sea to the less obvious but no less thought-provoking elements of the urban landscape. Each day I can see something new in the most familiar of places and I try to capture this not only to re-live the memories but also to share the experience with others.”
Fresh from his role as photographic advisor and contributor to the the publication Emerging Cork, O’ Connell applies his passion for photography to take the viewer on a journey of exploration through a mix of urban and rural landscapes.
‘LANDSCAPES’ will be officially launched at 6pm Friday 2nd November 2007 at the Cork Vision Centre, North main Street, Cork by the Minister for Enterprise Trade & Employment Micheál Martin TD.
Opening to the public on Saturday 3rd November, it will run until 29th November 2007. Admission is free.
