The Rise of the Sleeping Giants
Cork 20th June 2006: July sees an invasion of ‘Sleeping Giants’ at the Cork Vision Centre in the shape of Netherlands-based Irish Artist Olivia O’ Keeffe’s latest solo exhibition.
An increasingly central theme in O’ Keeffe’s work is the earth’s natural landscape. In ‘Sleeping Giants’, her work emphasises a dynamic and rhythmic movement within the earth’s structure. The mystical landscape of the Southwest, with its natural lightfall is captured in the visually striking ‘Sleeping Giants’ exhibition.
Writer and Poet John Arnold will officially launch ‘Sleeping Giants’ on Tuesday 4th July at 6.00pm at the Cork Vision Centre.
Opening to the public on Wednesday 5th July, the exhibition will run until the 28th July 2006.
